And the winner is…
Superior know-how, perfect craftsmanship, creativity and musicality in conjunction with the best possible choice of high quality products were unrivaled preconditions to secure a podium position at this international contest. And again Alpine products gave proof of being one unimpeachable key to take home trophies from this highlight event of Europe’s mobile media competition season!

Among more than 200 competitors the international EMMA judge team had to select and to nominate the 2007 European Champions. 18 championship-titles were waiting to be achieved – 10 of those First Place Trophies were awarded to competition cars running their mobile media system with Alpine headunits.
Alpine products dominated the EMMA competition categories Sound Quality, Multi Media and ESPL (European Sound Pressure League). Within the Sound Quality League Alpine was holding an overall headunit contingent of 41 %. In all other competition formats related percentages of Alpine units were improving their superior sound quality.

First-time European Champions like Manuel Hoffman from Germany as well as those who already tripled or quadrupled their European Championship like Per Söder from Sweden are using Alpine devices as a true license to win.

The ultimate Meeting Point
The Alpine Team Area in the competition hall was a perfect place to have a cold drink and a great view on a selection of exceptionally nice demo cars surrounded by some sweet n’ hot girls. Here was the right contact point to meet mobile media specialists and enthusiasts from all over Europe as well as staff members from the international Alpine divisions.

Munich, September 11, 2007 – “See what moves tomorrow” is the motto of the 62nd IAA in Frankfurt. But what you see is not the only what will amaze you at Frankfurt, as the in-car-entertainment specialists Alpine demonstrate their high quality sounds on stand B30 in Hall 6.1. This is just as much an ear-opener as an eye-opener!

IMPRINT is definitely one of the highlights. This novel sound concept, which is being launched initially with two products – a special car radio with integrated processor, and a sound processor for retrofitting – allows much simpler, quicker calibration of sound systems in vehicles. The system registers and compensates for the not unproblematic specific acoustic conditions in the vehicle.

After all, every car is different. This is demonstrated by Alpine’s four exciting demo vehicles, each of which stands for a different range of mobile solutions. They include a BMW Mini Cooper S, in which the ex-works car hi-fi system – most of it from Alpine, by the way – has been enhanced by adding additional multimedia sources, head-rest monitors, an IMPRINT sound processor and a sound upgrade. We also present the spectacularly tuned Renault Mégane, “The eXperience”, with its very elaborately installed system built around the multiple prize-winning IDA-X001 iPod control unit.

Drivers’ tastes in music are just as varied as their vehicles. There is a good reason why the Apple iPod is attracting more and more interest – it offers the capability to store a whole private “record collection” in a minimal space, and to take it with you wherever you go. The first car radio on the market to be consistently harmonised with the iPod – the Alpine IDA-X001 – therefore offers musical enjoyment to perfection for this target group, whether hand or menu-operated. The integrated TFT display can even show the stored record sleeve.

Portable navigation units are just as popular as portable music players. But only one of them offers the same convenience as a built-in unit: the Blackbird by Alpine, which is pleasing to both hand and eye. When required, the portable unit is simply set into the optional docking station, and all data are transferred to the large display of an already installed monitor, making a much improved view available. In addition, voice commands or stored MP3 files are played via the system installed in the vehicle. Operation is also safer and more convenient via the larger screen.   

From the Blackbird to the black box: in modern vehicles, there are fewer and fewer DIN-standardised recesses, and often there are highly-integrated multimedia systems installed ex works, making extensions very difficult. This is a case for Alpine’s Perfect F.I.T. Using the latest interface solutions, many Alpine components can be integrated and networked without impairing the function of standard elements such as monitors or steering-wheel remote controls.

But of course the full performance of a sound system can only be exploited with optimal speakers. Here, Alpine offer a complete range in all price categories. Whether bass, middle or treble speakers or subwoofers, two-way or three-way systems, round or oval: every car hi-fi enthusiast will find his dream product.
